The revolution starts in the kitchen – Food should be grown with love, cooked with love and eaten with love
When Joshua was at the west coast of the United States, one of his friends told him about a meeting with native Americans. One of the oldest told Joshua´s friend:
“You are what you eat. The Puppetplayer tries to take away the kitchen from the people. We forgot how to cook simple and healthy. We forgot to cook for ourselves. We forgot to grow our own food. If you ever want to free yourself from the Puppetplayer, you have to free your kitchen.”
We think he is right. So for supporting the revolution we want to share good recipes, that are not expensive, healthy and yummy.
We also want to share our ideas and experience with growing our own food. In the internet you can find a lot of ideas about different kind of gardens. On the site of our friends (costarelas.wordpress.com) we found some good ideas about forest garden.
Well, we are in general not the biggest fans of planing too much. Big plans we forget most of the time in the next café. We think it is always the best to go with the flow. Specially when you work hand in hand with nature.
We think a garden should grow. The most beautiful gardens that we saw, were gardens that have grown peaceful for over decades. Bringing over 400 new plants to a place sounds for us a little bit like an invasion.
Nature is slow. Or maybe we are most of the time too fast. Whatever, if you grow a garden you should give the environment the time to react on what you are doing. Otherwise you can hardly do it with nature.
From our observation nature is more the acting by heart type than a big thinker. You grow a garden, keep it simple. Find new ways and discover new harmonies. Don´t be afraid of making mistakes and be generous with your garden and with yourself. Because first of all a garden should be full of life. For that the gardener should be full of life, too.
