“Have you ever thought about your life as the one and only paradise?”  (Barna Pély)

Yesterday Joshua recorded his new album “Love is our aeroplane”.

This recording has a long story with many ups and downs. It started half a year ago with a trip to Budapest. We spent a few days with Kriszti and János from Muzsik és Volkova, were dancing on Kazinczy street, made a pancake party in Kriszti’s apartment and had a great time. One evening Kriszti also showed us their new songs, that were recorded in the studio of Patrik Prommer We liked them very much and decided to also work with Patrik.

A few weeks after everything was arranged. The studio was booked and Patrik wanted to play the drums and the bass parts on the tracks. But with one unexpected blow from the destiny, the whole project fall together like a pyramide of cards. For a prenatal examination a few days before the birth of Hugó, Joshua went with Zoé to the local hospital and catched a vocal string infection. For two months he could not sing and the recording was cancelled. Patrik told us, that we could record all summer, so Joshua decided to make another run in the end of June. What Patrik did not tell us, that he had to move out with his studio in the beginning in July. When we called a few days before we wanted to meet, destiny hit us one more time.

Suddenly Patrik had to move his studio two weeks earlier. Again the recording was cancelled. This time it seemed as if there was no more hope.

Without any studio, no drummer and already on the road, it seemed the project would not happen this year. But one more time life made an unexpected turn. An old friend joined the LoveRevolution. Balázs Pongrácz, the drummer from Paddy and the Rats made the imposssible possible.

A few days after Zoé called him from the Balaton, we met with him in Budapest. If you want to read more about our evening with Balázs, click here.

Balázs wanted to take the drumpart, but the time frame was too short. For the next two weeks he will be on tour in France and play on the Sziget Festival. Still he could help us to arrange the recording room in the Supersize studio, where he and his band already recorded their last album “Riot City Outlaws” together with the american producer Cameron Webb.

Yesterday it finally happened and it was amazing.
Joshua decided to make the best out of the situation. With nothing more then his guitar, Joshua recorded on one afternoon in a live studio session seven tracks. Andris Makay, who was also the assistent sound engineer of Cameron Webb when Paddy and the Rats were in the Supersize studio, was mixing and mastering for him.

Here you can already listen to one of the tracks:
“Love is our aeroplane”

Hugó enjoyed it very much, too.

But in the end, the day got much longer than expected.

While Andris was still mastering the songs, we met Barna Pély and Dexter, his sound engineer. Together they already recorded five albums. This time Barna was working on his new solo album “Improvised destiny”, that after all also could have been the title of our story.

“My songs are never the same. Some of them I played already many years ago and they are still changing. I actually wanted to record my new album live on stage. But it was always different, I always was influenced by the audience and the space I had to fill up. For that I decided to come here, where I can play them alone, without listening to nobody, just being myself,” Barna told us in one of the recording brakes.

This time Barna was singing in english. “I had always english songs. But in older times in this country you could only record in hungarian. I remember still very good, that when I came in 1994 with the age of 19 to studio to record my first album and started to sing in english, they wanted to send me out.”

Now Barna could do whatever he wanted and it was great. We listened to a few of the songs and the energy of Barna and the style how he and Dexter were working gave us a lot of new ideas.

We are happy, that our way brought us the Supersize recording studio and for the opportunity to meet all of this amazing people. One more time life proved, that when something is not working out, something better will come.

We hope you will enjoy the track as much as we do!
Later we will share more with you!

Now it is time to hit the road again,
kisses,

Zoé and Joshua
